Advanced Open Water Diver Course
The Advanced Open Water Diver Course is an experience oriented course designed to give you practical experience
in a number of specialty diving areas. Through our Monterey facility you will participate in one day of shore diving
and one day of boat diving in the beautiful, Monterey Bay Marine Sanctuary.
You will begin by reading the requisite academic materials at home on your own time. The material will
then be reviewed with your instructor prior to your water training sessions. The objective of the course is to give
you as much in water time as possible in which to perfect your diving skills.
Dive Requirements;
Advanced certification requires a minimum of five dives to be done over two days. If you have Instructor signed
documentation of Advanced Level dives, we will credit you with the dives completed. You may not need all five dives to obtain
the Advanced Certification.

Rescue Diver Course
The Scuba Schools Rescue Diver Course gives you the opportunity to expand your knowledge of diving and increase
your level of diving skill. It makes you more aware of what is happening around you in the diving environment.
The course is designed to develop the necessary knowledge and skills for you to effectively perform diver
rescues and assists, manage diving accident situations and render proper first aid. Rescue Diver certification is also an
important prerequisite for the Divemaster rating, the first professional diver rating, and the distinguished Master Scuba
Diver rating, the highest nonprofessional rating in scuba diving. Most importantly, rescue training can help you save lives
and increase diving's already excellent safety record by preparing you to respond properly to diving emergencies and near
emergencies.
Must be Advanced Open Water certified in order to participate in the Rescue Diver Course.
Current certification in CPR is also required for participation in the program. If you are not certified
in CPR, The Emergency First Response program is available.
